STREAM INTERMISSION VIDEOS
I created 3 intermission slides for my personal stream all around similar themes of retro internet & tv aesthetic. I also incorporated elements of my vtuber model, using glitchy effects to portray them as a sort of 'internet demon'. A lot of this aesthetic was inspired by both my personal experiences with the internet and media as a young person, and techno-themed animes (such as serial experiments lain and ergo proxy).

STREAM BEGINNING

For the beginning of the stream I started with the most simple of the three, a static image with periodic glitch effects. This would usually be put to music during the stream opening, whilst people waited for the stream to start. This video is about 5 minutes but the video effect just loops, with glitches occuring at irregular intervals. The video is designed to be able to be played on a continous loop.

STREAM BREAK

During my stream breaks, I wanted something dynamic to keep viewers entertained whilst waiting for the stream to return, as well as something to hook viewers who may have dropped in during a break. Foremost, the stream break intermission features my vtuber model, who is animated via frames to both blink and to speak using speech bubbles. I used frame animation to give a bit more of a stop-motion feel to the animation. The speech bubbles feature positive affirming messages, particularly designed to ensure viewers themselves take breaks and look after themselves. Alongside this, the vtuber model is holding a tv, which plays a long-running looped video. I actually seperately edited a video of retro television advertisements, adding in various video effects and cuts to create a jittery, glitchy retro video reminiscent of the vhs era with a heavier emphasis on colour and media errors. This video was then incorporated into the tv (via greenscreen) so it plays on loop whilst the frame animation plays at it's own slower speed. This intermission, like the others, is designed to run on a continous loop.

STREAM ENDING

At the end of every stream I would play my stream end intermission. This consisted of a still image of my vtuber model with a 'stream ended' text piece, purposefully set to relaxed music. At the 17-18 second interval, the screen glitches and the music stops, instead greeting the viewer with an error screen. I designed this error screen after the classic BSOD (Blue screen of death) but adjusted it to be pink to suit the theme of my stream designs (and a funny alternative-written error). The timing on this was designed specifically for viewers who would stay around to say goodbye or provide any last remarks to the stream, as a sort of reward for not clicking off right away.
